Open Graves has been online for many years in serevarl different formats. In the early days there were a few pages, a couple
of reviews, lots of pictures, and links to all the sites where we had found cult, classic, and hard to find titles. Over
the years the site evolved as sites do to include Scream Queen Galleries, book reviews, message boards, and over 50 pages
of movie reviews. We had the opportunity to meet and talk horror with a lot of great people including writers, host, directors,
and one incredibly nice Scream Queen! Altogether, it was an awesome experience!!!
Then something happened. All the site promotion, updates, board moderation, searches for stills, graphics, and cover
shots, and the long hours watching movies with note pad and pen in hand changed from a pleasure into a job. The Fun was gone!!!
I told everyone I needed a break, canceled the webhosting, and threw in the towel.
After the short break I decided that I loved the site, not as much as the movies of course, but that it and the interaction
with other fans were important. So after confering with my web guru/book reviewer/wife, I decided to go back to the begining.
Free hosting, smaller band width, and not strugling to add at least 1 new review in 3-4 categories weekly. The serious and
professionl look was dropped, (no pretentions, or competion with other sites), the message board is gone for a time, and the
reviews will be added in a more liesurely manner.
We've kept the same great reviews but added a more tongue in cheek style, flashier graphics, and are not concerned with
traffic or awards (we have ranked a few). So thanks for reading to the bottom of this long winded introduction. We hope
you enjoy your visit and return often.
